I have an Adaptec AHA1542CF host adapter. I am running Linux kernel
2.0.36 with the aha1542 driver as a module and loaded at boot time
via an initial ramdisk. On a cold boot everything works just fine,
however, on a warn boot the system locks up on loading the aha1542
driver. This is the last message printed before the system locks up:

Configuring Adaptec (SCSI-ID 7) at IO:230, IRQ 11, DMA priority 5

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it?
Thanks.

Sounds like the card needs a cold boot (which resets ISA cards)
or it locks up. Later versions of linux got rid of warm boots.
Thought of upgrading to lk 2.2 or 2.4 ? Both series support
the 1542 card. [Actually I have patches to make it work on the
lk 2.5 series as well; so old hardware lives on :-)]
