I just installed mandrake 9.0, with the grub loader, but I want to change
lines I see when i boot, in stead of nt and just linux, I want to change
this lines in Windows xp and mandrake.

How can one do this?

I tried to change menu.lst in the grub, but I am unable to save the changes.

My regards

Have you tried editing the file as root?

Hi,

I'm using Red Hat v8.2 with Grub for a boot loader and here's how I did
it: Log in as root and open a terminal. Then at the cli type 'cd
/boot/grub' (without the single quotes of course) then type 'xemacs
grub.conf' (or replace xemacs with your favorite text editor) to edit
the config file. Then look for a line that starts with 'title' and edit
the remainder of that line to read like you want it. For example you'll
look for:

title Linux

and change it to:

title Mandrake

hope this helps.
