Starting Conky at logon in Gnome

Can someone pls advise which file to edit so that when I log into Gnome, Conky starts automatically.

I don't know if this is *the* way of doing things, but it works: I created a small bash script file to be called at start up.  Just adding "conky &" to the session start up didn't work because it would get overwritten by the time Nautillus started up, so after a bit of searching, a script file with a sleep command followed by the invocation to start Conky seems to have worked.
