Hi,

The debian 5.0 has a tiny CD installation method, I downloaded these files

cdrom/debian-cd_info.tar.gz -- isolinux config files for CD
cdrom/initrd.gz -- initrd for use with isolinux to build a CD
cdrom/vmlinuz -- kernel for use with isolinux to build a CD

But I dont' know how to make a iso with these files, Do I need to
uncompress the debian-cd_info.tgz and how about initrd.gz, I 'm
guessing to specify vmlinuz as the boot file when making the iso, do
you have any guide to make this iso image?

I believe there's a netinst iso for that to save you from the hassle.

From http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst:

"Instead of getting a full 650MB CD image, you just download a CD image file which contains the bare essentials necessary to install the rest. It is necessary to have access to a CD recorder in order to use this. The following are image files which are up to 180 MB in size, making them suitable for writing to small CD-R(W) media, 80 mm/3.1" in diameter"

and:

"The following are image files which are up to 40 MB in size, making them suitable for writing to business card-shaped CDs (available in differing sizes, e.g. 58×75 mm/2.3×3" in diameter)"

------

Umarzuki is right you should install Debian using the net install method, it's easier.

Here is some info for what you requested:
http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst#verysmall
and:
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/installmanual
please read.

but all these docs don't tell me how to make the iso file for tiny CD
from the files downloaded.

There is only one file to download, the particular .iso file you need,
as suggested the netinst.iso.

Once you have the .iso file, you use whatever software you want on
whatever computer you want to burn that .iso to a CD.

You don't need to compile, extract, add, create an iso, whatever...is not necessary as I and others stated before it's already done and you just need to download the 40MB iso or the 180MB iso in order to install Debian from the netinstall method and burn it to a CD that's the easy way.

cdrom/debian-cd_info.tar.gz     -- isolinux config files for CD
cdrom/initrd.gz                 -- initrd for use with isolinux to build a CD
cdrom/vmlinuz                   -- kernel for use with isolinux to build a CD

I guess you extracted those files from the iso you downloaded, am I right?
or where did you get those files?
AFAIK those files come inside the installation CD, DVD and those make the CD able to start Debian so, again there is no need to use them to create a CD which you can download from the debian site.

But I dont' know how to make a iso with these files, Do I need to
uncompress the debian-cd_info.tgz and how about initrd.gz, I 'm
guessing to specify vmlinuz as the boot file when making the iso, do
you have any guide to make this iso image?

these files are downloaded from Debian tiny CD cdrom folder here ,
http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-i386/current/images/

The instruction from this page http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst,
where also tell me that I should write them into the media.

Copied to here,

"Tiny CDs, floppy disks, USB sticks, etc

You can download a couple of image files the size of a floppy disk or
another removable media of similar small size, write them to the
media, and then start the installation by booting from that."

I know we could try the small CD aprox 180MB or 40MB, but this tiny CD
is very cool, which size is even smaller than the two, but lack of
doc, I don't know how to write these files into media - my CD-disk.

I don't know if I follow you, but AFAIK if you need to install Debian using network boot you need a debian server configured to iniciate the requests via network(tftp, dhcp boot, etc.), not an iso or cd.
the only ways to install using an iso or cd/dvd are the ones that you already know, and there is no need to create an image or iso to do that.
years ago you could install debian using a set of floppy disks, but i don't know if that method is still working today.
so I don't understand the method you want to use...

here's the info that appears to me in the URL you gave me.

Filename TimeSize
[F] MANIFEST 23:59 14-02-091510
[F] MANIFEST.udebs 23:59 14-02-0937994
[F] MD5SUMS 23:59 14-02-095057
[F] udeb.list 23:59 14-02-095778

AFAIK that could not be used to create an iso, there are other files involved in that process.
maybe someone else can understand what you're trying to achieve...

I'm sorry.

40M has been small enough, what are you still looking for?

Nothing to extract, just use your burning software and burn the
debian.iso as a bootable cd.

Here's a good guide for burning an .iso in Windows:
