Viber won't run

Hello Friends!
My desktop computer runs Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
https://www.viber.com/en/download/
If I try to run viber, I am immediately shown a popup window saying,
No connection
An internet connection is required to activate youViber account. Check your connection and try again.
There is a Try Again button, but it isn't helping.
This happens even if internet connection is ok.

Sadly, it's outside the scope of this list to help you with this commercial
third party app, I think.
