Wie Bildschirmauflösung von 1366x768 einstellen?

Moin Leute,

Nachdem mir mein Platter platt war, habe ich mir einen Asus VW161D 15,6"
besorgt, nur kann ich den "xserver-xorg-video-fbdev" nicht auf die
Auflösung von 1366x768 bringen.

Hat jemand den Monitor und kann mir sagen, wie man ihn einstellt?

Ich habe eine Matrox G450 Dual Head:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400/G450 (rev 82)

Was hast Du denn bisher versucht und was waren die Fehlermeldungen?
Hast Du schon im entsprechenden Screen-Abschnitt in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
einen Display-Unterabschnitt mit 'Modes "1366x768"'[0] probiert? Falls
ja, was steht dann beim Starten von X in /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

Ich vermute, dass sich dann da ein Meldung findet, dass die Auflösung
bei der Bildwiederholrate nicht vom Monitor unterstütz wird. In dem Fall
kannst Du Dir behelfen, indem Du z.B. mit gtf[1] passende Modelines
erzeugst.

Da sind so um die 200 Zeilen mit "Out of range"

Also die Meldung bekommst Du bei einer mit gtf erzeugten Modeline? Was
bekommst Du, wenn Du die Zeile mit cvt erzeugst?

Was sagt Knoppix oder eine andere Live-Distri zu der Kombination? Wird
der Monitor passend erkannt? Evtl kannst Du die entsprechenden Zeilen
kopieren :-)

Hast Du die Möglichkeit, mal ne andere Graka zu testen? Daran lag es bei
meinem Flachmann, dass sich die korrekte (native) Auflösung nicht
einstellen ließ.

Ich habe nur eine G450 DualHead aund dan noch eine dann nocheine... :-/


Mittlerweile startet der Xserver aber das 1366x768 wird einfach
ignoriert und 1024x768 genommen ABER gestretchd, sprich, die 1024 sind
uber die breite von 1366 Pixel und Tux grinst mich jetzt wie ein
Breitmaulfrosch an...

Weil ich unter Lenny probleme mit dem "mga" und dem LiteOn AAC15 hatte,
habe ich den "fbdev" verwendet, welcher auch perfect mit Standard-
auflösungen arbeitet...

...aber nicht mit 1366x768.

Jetzt ergibt sich allerdings das problem, wie bekomme ich wieder meinen
Dual-Screen hin.

Hast Du ne Ahnung, wie man die CONSOLE (framebuffer) zu einer nicht
deformierten auflösung überreden kann? (Ich hätte gerne eine Wide-Screen
console)

So, nachdem ich von "fbdev" zurück auf "mga" bin habe ich das nächste
problem: Am oberen rand fehlen 4 Pixel und am unteren ~26 Pixel.

Irgendwelche ideen, wie man das Bild hinbekommt?

Der Monitor läßt mich das Bild nur rechts/Links und Oben/Unten verschie-
ben aber nicht in der größe modifizieren.

So, nun habe ich es geschaft, Xinerama wieder zum laufen zu bringen, nur
will weder mein FvwmButtonPanel (Top) noch meine FvwmTaskBar auf beiden
angezeigt werden...

Die FvwmTaskBar ist auf dem AsusTek (rechts) und das FvwmButtonPanel im
linken LiteOn Monitor... :-/

Wie auch immer, der LiteOn stellt einwandfrei die breite von 1024 Pixel
dar, hat aber eine Höhe von 800 Pixel, sprich, unten habe ich ein paar
zuviel.

Der AsusTek spinnt weiter... 1280x800 anstatt 1366x768.

Das hatte ich mehrfach versucht zu ändern, brigt aber nichts.

Ich hatte gehoft, das irgend jemand eine equivalenten Monitor hat und
sagen könnte was er eingestellt hat.

Was genau wurde geändert?
Vsync 75 Hz bei 768 Zeilen bedingt nun mal einen Hsync > 50 khz.
Warum überhaupt 75 Hz?. Beim LCD-Monitor reichen 60 Hz
vollkommen aus und dann beleibt Hsync auch knapp unter 50 kHz.

Hallo Michelle,

Google hat mir erzählt, dass Du Dich schon etwas länger damit quälst ;-)
Daher hier mal etwas mehr "Futter".

Die HorizSync und die VertRefresh in Deiner xorg.conf entsprechen nicht
den Daten Deines Monitors. Laut Asus:

müsste in Deiner xorg.conf folgendes stehen:
HorizSync 30-82
VertRefresh 56-76
sonst kastrierst Du Deinen Monitor unnötig.

Eigentlich sollte man die Zeilen ganz weglassen können, denn der Monitor
sollte seine Fähigkeiten als EDID-String per DDC melden.
Bei dem von Dir hier geposteten Xorg.0.log steht aber merkwürdigerweise:
"No DDC signal"
Hm, was ist den das für'n Kabel bzw. Anschluss? Bei TV-out kenne ich
das...

Und dann geht die Benennung der 1366x768 Modes in der xorg.conf etwas
durcheinander, so dass er den Mode beim Starten nicht wiederfindet.

Am sichersten wäre es, wenn Du zwischen Monitor und Grafikkarte eine
Verbindung herstellen könntest, die die EDID-Daten überträgt.
Dann brauchst Du in der xorg.conf gar nicht so viel zu konfigurieren,
modelines und Frequenzen werden dann automatisch mitgeteilt.

Sollte Dein Monitor zu denen gehören, die sich selbst sehr im Zweifel
über ihre eigenen Fähigkeiten sind und per DDC/EDID Mist erzählen,
könntest Du das mit dem Tool read-edid auslesen und mit parse-edid human
readable machen und verifizieren. Dann könnte ein ignoreEDID und manuelle
Konfiguration weiterhelfen (wenn der Matrox-Treiber ignoreEDID versteht).

Zur manuellen Konfiguration brauchst Du die HorizSync, VertRefresh und
die max. Bandbreite Deines Monitors und auch die Bandbreite Deiner GraKa.
Dann kannst Du mit irgendeinem modeline-Erstellungs-Tool oder einer der
Webseiten, die so etwas anbieten (z.B. http://old.koalateam.com/cgi-bin/
nph-colas-modelines ) Dir Deine ganz individuelle modeline stricken.

In dem Falle verlässt Du Dich aber auf die Daten und die Berechnung des
Tools. Tod der GraKa und/oder des Monitors nicht ausgeschlossen.

Der war echt gut.... Genauso wie angegeben gemacht aber anstatt 1360
(dachte es sei ein tippfehler) habe ich 1366 angegeben und dann einen
Virtualbildschirm gehabt der 6 pixel links rechts verschiebbar war.

Also auf 1360 geändert und schon ging die chose...

Gut links war ein 1,5cm schwarzer Rand, also "xvidtune" aufgerufen,
korrigiert, getestet, in die xorg.conf eingetragen und "xserver" neu
gestartet...

5 Minuten am FVWM rumgebastelt und schon geht alles wie gewünscht...

Also Vsync 60 Hz. Übrigens schlägt auch das Manual für diesen Monitor
eben diesen Wert vor.

Das Manual für den Monitor gibt die native Auflösung als 1366x768 an.
Also sollt man diese, um das bestmögliche Bild zu bekommen, auch
verwenden.

Der angeratene Weg wäre gewesen, den virtuellen Bildschirm auf 1366
zu ändern.

Ich denke, das Ergebnis ist noch optimierbar ;-)
In dem Thread hatte jemand das Problem, das seine Karte nur Auflösungen
in Vielfachen von 8 unterstützte. 1366 wäre für Deinen Monitor schon
besser als 1360.

Wenn Du die Bandbreite von GraKa und Monitor hast, kannst Du Dir eine
modeline berechnen (lassen). Siehe z.B. den Link in meinem anderen
Posting.

Ich persönlich würde aber lieber für eine funktionierende DDC-Verbindung
sorgen, damit sich Monitor und GraKa mal vernünftig unterhalten können.
(Kann man bei dem Monitor DDC per OSD an- und ausstellen?)
Dann bekommst Du die Auflösung und Wiederholfrequenzen, für die Dein
Monitor konstruiert ist.
