Does anyone here know anything about this issue? Riku, Aurelien, Rod,
anyone?

how about this:

http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0705.3/1667.html

and the explanation and possible patch is given therein (might work
for you?) as well.

And another possible patch at the hardware driver level is this:

http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/libertas-dev/2008-January/001129.html

not sure which will work for you?

The application that is causing this seems to be rsyslogd.

I tried google with
(http://www.google.com/cse?cx=014345598409501589908%3Amplknj4r1bu&ie=UTF-8&q=rsyslogd+NOHZ&sa=Search)
that is, rsyslogd NOHZ

1.How about this.

#Tickless Idle
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server uses tickless timers. This can be
disabled by adding nohz=off as a boot option.

Source of this information is from
(http://www.novell.com/linux/releasenotes/x86_64/SUSE-SLES/11/)
Chapter 6.

2.This One two on an similar line from SMP Setup.

There seems to be an update for rsyslogd.

In the last 8 days I can not see this warnings in my logs.
To save RAM I have change some services to start with xinetd, but I
don't know if there a context.

Sorry for my bad English

In lenny-backports is a newer version from rsyslog:

,----
| rsyslog:
| Installiert: 3.18.6-4
| Kandidat: 3.18.6-4
| Versions-Tabelle:
| 3.20.4-2~bpo50+1 0
| 1 http://ftp.de.debian.org lenny-backports/main Packages
| *** 3.18.6-4 0
| 500 http://ftp.de.debian.org lenny/main Packages
| 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
`----

Is a update to this version recommendable?

More specific to 3.18.6.

I am not an tasklet expert. But this does not go away when nohz=off.
Or is it not desirable.

I can not overlook all effects from nohz=off and I can not evaluate this
warning. The System runs very good, only this warning in the log. If
nohz=off recommendable, then I use it.

thanks for help
