This is possibly the same as #1027430 and #1027483. Fixes for that
would be pending.

Thank you very much, I'm switching the laptop that had that problem (Huawei matebook ryzen 2500u) to a (Lenovo yoga 6 ryzen 5500u), I'm not sure I will have the same problem again.

I am glad that there is a report and that Dániel even found a commit.
Please close my report as duplicate; I overlooked Martins report
because I only searched for "audio", not "sound".

In Martins report you write:

To confirm the revert fixes the issue, I migrate away from the HP
EliteBook 840 G8 and will try to build a patched kernel.
