Package: openssh-server
Version: 1:5.1p1-5
Severity: normal

winbind and openssh-server installed and configured correctly
winbind separator ist set to "/" (slash)
login on console with Domain/user works correctly
wbinfo works correctly
but with login over ssh from diferent hosts by
ssh domain/user@server
or
ssh -l domain/user server
login is not working

In /var/log/auth.log there is allways only
Invalid user Domain from ClientIP

(without user, only domain)

If I set winbind separator to "+" (wich is mentioned not to use in man smb.conf)
login with ssh works as expected and in auth.log is
there is
Invalid user Domain+user from ClientIP

Everywhere else winbind separator is / so it is much easiere for us if
/ is working also in Debin Lenny

thanks

I think Debian's OpenSSH uses "/" as a separator for SELinux roles, so
you can't use them in user names.

thank you for the quick answer. I think it would be a good idea to
document this somewhere like + in smb.conf. It cost me about 1 hour
to verify that this is noch confg-failure.
