In /etc/postfix/main.cf.proto, I can see

while the "ip" command tends to be preferred nowadays and "ifconfig"
isn't necessarily available. At least "ip link" should be given.

Well, just say the same thing as the postconf(5) man page:

On Linux, this works correctly only with interfaces specified

with the "ifconfig" or "ip" command.

This was fixed upstream in postfix 3.8 and will be addressed when it is uploaded
to Debian.
