Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
Sending ICMPv6 echo request to an address where the router replies with ICMPv6 destination unreachable - Reject route to destination. That is Type 1 code 6.
Defined in RFC4443:
ftp://rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc4443.html
The message is:
m@ryz:~$ ping6 fd00:acd::4 -c 1
PING fd00:acd::4 (fd00:acd::4): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from fd00:abcd::1: Destination unreachable: Unknown code 6
--- fd00:acd::4 ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
m@ryz:~$
This should be a proper message like "Route to destination rejected by <IP from router>".
