Package: zathura
Version: 0.3.6-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
I have a feature request: I found out that the okular [1][2]
is able to play videos embedded in pages of PDF documents
created with LaTeX and beamer [3] (which includes the "multimedia"
LaTeX package, defining the \movie command).

Could the same feature be implemented in zathura, in order to let it
play videos embedded in PDF pages? Perhaps some code could be borrowed
from okular (if there's no objection to the introduction of GPL-licensed
code into zathura [4]).

Please forward my feature request upstream and/or help the upstream
developers to implement this feature.

Thanks for your time.
Bye!

[4] zathura is zlib-licensed and hence GPL-compatible, but maybe there's
some dislike for copyleft licenses, I don't know...

Update: pdfpc (Debian package "pdf-presenter-console") is another
viewer that supports video playback (well, almost [1]).

Again if there's no objection to introducing GPL-licensed code into
zathura, some code could be borrowed from pdfpc.

Have you forwarded my feature request upstream?

BTW, I would like to point out that all the Forwarded URLs for zathura
Debian BTS bug reports currently seem to be broken links.
For instance:
https://bugs.pwmt.org/issue381
https://bugs.pwmt.org/issue267
https://bugs.pwmt.org/issue15
https://bugs.pwmt.org/issue382

Please fix these URLs, so that they lead to the actual upstream bug
reports.

Thanks for your time!
Bye.

Someone needs to find the time to finish libzathura, port zathura and the
plugins. It should already contain some code to handle movie annotations.

pdf-presnet-console is written in vala, so I don't see any code from there being
integrated in zathura.

Cheers
