Bug#1051236: proftpd-core: SSH key exchanges fail unexpectedly with "unable to write X bytes of raw data"

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading to Debian 12, my SFTP client stopped working with errors when connecting.

I've opened a GitHub issue and the problem has been solved.
https://github.com/proftpd/proftpd/issues/1694

It will even be backported to the 1.3.8 branch, so I hope that it might be available in an upcoming update in Debian 12.

Nice catch, thanks. A PU can be prepared, but of course it requires a go by SRMs.

I'll try to push more fixes into deb12u2 and eventually release it to
the next point release. Unfortunately I'm quite busy working on other
issues, my developer box was down etc. I'll try to look into it.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the effort. I guess it was worth it since my problem is solved.

I've tried again with the latest version of my client and the
"official" Debian 12 package and it was still failing.
After installing your version of proftpd-basic, proftpd-core,
proftpd-mod-crypto and proftpd-mod-wrap, everything is working fine
again.

I can confirm the packages in testing are working (1.3.8.a+dfsg-1).
