Dear Maintainer,

I am experiencing screen tearing when moving windows or scrolling text.
Software compositing window manager is turned on in settings.

This is the output of lnxi -G command

Graphics:

I have also tried Linux Mint 21.1 Mate edition with default settings(Marco with
software rendering) and there is no screen tearing present there.

I am using Mate Desktop enviroment.

I think this commit is causing an issue with Marco compositor not
working as it should. (Screen tearing)

Here is why it was applied, and it should be reverted back. (Xpresent
needs to be re-enabled in Marco)

I noticed that in Linux mint 21(Ubuntu 22.04) libmarco-private2 depends
on libxpresent1.

While the one in Debian Bookworm does not.

I agree with your analysis. However, I need to check how marco checks
for the presence of the present extension in the Xserver. We have to
make sure, marco runs in X2Go as well as on physical hardware.
