Package: wine-development
Version: 1.7.41-1
Severity: normal

Hi!

The command
$ wine-development wineboot -fu
tells me:
Could not load wine-gecko. HTML rendering will be disabled.

Gecko isn't working here.

Some search gave me this in wines forum:
https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24218#p98862

Should be fixed in future.

Thanks a lot!

Yours sincerely
Joerg Schiermeier

winegecko 2.34 needs to be packaged up. Please consider helping
Stephen with #769707.

Best wishes,
Mike

Yeah, I gave up trying to figure out where (if anywhere) it's looking for gecko. I've resorted to running the installer manually.

I know it's not looking in any of these since I've downloaded or linked the gecko installers in all of them:
/usr/share/wine/gecko
/usr/share/wine-development/gecko
/usr/share/wine-development/wine/gecko

ok, I lied and had another look. patches/disable/downloading.patch doesn't disable downloading really rather than not trying at all to install either gecko or mono. If disabling downloading is all that's really desired it seems like that patch doesn't even need to be there, rather removing the get_url bit (or everything but install_from_default_dir) in install_addon in addons.c should work.
