Maxima crashes when I press tab twice:

$ maxima -q

Maxima encountered a Lisp error:

Condition in MACSYMA-TOP-LEVEL [or a callee]: INTERNAL-SIMPLE-ERROR: Caught fatal error [memory may be damaged]

Automatically continuing.
To enable the Lisp debugger set *debugger-hook* to nil.

Unrecoverable error: Segmentation violation..
Aborted

Greetings, and thanks for your report! I cannot reproduce this. Are
you running in a terminal or in an emacs shell? If you precede the tabs
with

:lisp (si::readline-off)

does the problem go away?

As a data point, I get the crash on i386, but not on amd64.

Terminal.
