Dear Maintainer,

evolution dislays the following error. I believe this is fixed in testing,
please build evolution in bullseye-backports so that the fix is avalible to
those using stable.

Failed to connect address book “mar...@brasskipper.org.uk : Contacts”

Invalid request URI or header, or unsupported nonstandard parameter: Contacts
API is being deprecated. Migrate to People API to retain programmatic access to
Google Contacts. See https://developers.google.com/people/contacts-api-

Just to support the OP, please build the upstream (fixed) version in
bullseye backports: I'm guessing there are a LOT of users of Google
Contacts who are adversely affected by this.

To clarify, we would need evolution-data-server 3.42.0 or better in order to
regain contacts sync with Google servers in Evolution.

Either that or a patch to backport of the fix itself to the current version.
