Package: primus
Version: 0~20150328-15
Severity: important

Sir,
I've been trying to get my laptop to work under "primus, bumblebee and my GTX
960M graphics card" for several days. The Linux version is "Linux 12 BookWoorm
(up to date)". The CPU is an Intel I7-6700HQ. The driver recommended by the
"nvidia-detect" command is "nvidia-driver". The "strace primusrun glxgears"
command gives the following error:
write(2, "primus: fatal: Bumblebee daemon "..., 119primus: fatal: Bumblebee
daemon reported: error: [XORG] (EE) Failed to load module "mouse" (module does
not exist, 0)

) = 119
exit_group(1) = ?
+++ exited with 1 +++.

root@Lune:~# primusrun glxgears
primus: fatal: Bumblebee daemon reported: error: [XORG] (EE) Failed to load
module "mouse" (module does not exist, 0)

root@Lune:~#

How to resolve this error?
Thank you in advance.

Then the problem is on the bumblebee side ...

Do you have xserver-xorg-input-mouse installed?

@Luca, can you try to reproduce that?

Sir,
I uninstalled and then reinstalled NVIDIA. The installed driver is "nvidia-tesla-470-driver". For primus the following packages have been installed:
"bbswitch-dkms, bumblebee, bumblebee-status, primus"

However, I had several errors:
1- /etc/bumblebee/xorg.confi.d "file not found", solved by adding empty file "10-dummy.cont"

2-"Mouse and kbd not found" packages "xserver-xorg-input-mouse and xserver-xorg-input-kbd" fixed this error.

3-I also added in the "/etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia" file the following line: Busid="PCI:01:00:0"

Now there is no error, "primusrun glxgears" and "optirun glxgears" work fine. Unfortunately there is no video acceleration compared to "glxgears".
Here under the results under  debian 12 (Bookworm) et debian 11 (Bullsyes".

Bookwoorm

root@Lune:~# optirun glxgears
291 frames in 5.0 seconds = 58.182 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.032 FPS
^C[  367.519829] [WARN]Received Interrupt signal.

root@Lune:~# primusrun glxgears
293 frames in 5.0 seconds = 58.412 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.043 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.039 FPS
^C

root@Lune:~# glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh.  The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
310 frames in 5.0 seconds = 61.935 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.043 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.042 FPS
^C
root@Lune:~#

As you can see under Debian 11 only "optirun" has the performance of the Nvidia GTX960M chips.
primusrun has Intel GPU performance.

^C[   71.213925] [WARN]Received Interrupt signal.

root@lune:~# primusrun glxgears
317 frames in 5.0 seconds = 63.271 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.021 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.019 FPS
^C

root@lune:~# glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh.  The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
371 frames in 5.0 seconds = 74.062 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.022 FPS

root@lune:~#

I don't see a solution to solve those problems. Can you pass it on to whom it may concern?
Thanks
Jean Pierre

Hello sir,
I inform you that I solved the problem by purging all the "nvidia" files using the command
"apt purge *nvidia* and by uninstalling the "new" module. Then I installed driver
"nvidia-driver/ nvidia-driver-bin" then restarted the system. Bumblebee, optirun and
primusrun are ok.
Thank you in advance.
