Bug#1019461: ipheth-utils: iPhone SE 1st Gen. doesn't negotiate a ip out of the dhcp pool with the computer

* What led up to the situation?
I am trying to connect my iPhone Se 1st Gen USB Hotspot to my Linux PC, that runs Kubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. Following a guide online I installed ipheth-utils, usbmuxd, libimobiledevice and libimobiledevice-utils.
I connected my phone and the greenbar on the top of the phone designated that a device had connected to my phone over usb (since I have wlan and bluetooth off.) Though if I ran 'ip a' I could clearly see that
my ip address had been set to a fallback IP address and not one in the range of the DHCP pool of my phone (172.20.10.0 - 172.20.10.15). A logical solution for me was to set my network settings manually
to be in the range of the phone and was greeted with a connection confirmed. Weirdly when I pinged 172.20.10.1 (the phone) I got 'Destination Host Unreachable'. I also couldn't connect to any websites. Thinking
it might be a conflict between KDE and ipheth utils I switched to a blank raspberry pi. Getting the same result. When I tried to renegotiate the ip with 'dhclient -v eth1' no change was found.
In dmesg the connection also was always confirmed.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
After 5 hours of headscratching I tried the newer iPhone Se 2nd Gen of my brother, while not changing a thing, only setting the network interface back to automatic. The Computer was directly given a ip in the pool.
This got me to think that it might be a version mismatch between ipheth-utils and my older iPhone.
