Would like to, but can't as "emacs-common (= 1:28.2+1-2)" is
unavailable due to a FTBFS:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=emacs

But thanks for caring about this issue. Much appreciated!

Regards, Axel

I see.

You're welcome!

Actually I'm very keen on seeing a (working ;-) Emacs 28 in Debian
Unstable as one of my packages (elpa-ligature) only seems to work
properly with Emacs 28 (and occasionally crashes Emacs 27 due to a
missing fix there according to upstream)… Because then I can finally
move it from experimental to unstable, too. :-)

Will do, once the packages are on incoming.d.o.

And thanks for your patience and pertinaciousness with this issue. :-)

Control: fixed -1 1:28.2+1-3

Yay, finally! This one fixed it! Thanks a lot!

Marking it as fixed in 1:28.2+1-3, but leaving up to you how to
actually close the bug report as there's another one merged with this
one.

The only thing which now happened is this:

In toplevel form:
cider.el:218:1: Error: Wrong number of arguments: (3 . 4), 2

[…]
ERROR: install script from elpa-cider package failed
dpkg: error processing package emacs-gtk (--configure):
installed emacs-gtk package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

But this is https://bugs.debian.org/1017834 and I was able to solve it
by temporarily uninstalling elpa-cider.
