Start remmina, either automatically at login, or via a console shell.

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?

Connected to a saved RDP server, then logged out of the remote machine,
causing
the connection to terminate normally.

* What was the outcome of this action?

Remmina closed down, with the following messages on the console:

I also had this issue but not reproduced anymore in latest versions (I
keep updated numerous thin clients in production with custom backports),
if I'm not wrong was solved in 1.4.22
