SANE WebScan frontend that supports Apple's AirScan protocol. Scanners are
detected automatically, and published through mDNS. Acquired images may be
transferred in JPEG, PNG, and PDF/raster format.

AirSane's intended purpose is to be used with AirScan/eSCL clients such as
Apple's Image Capture, but a simple web interface is provided as well.

Images are encoded on-the-fly during acquisition, keeping memory/storage
demands low. Thus, AirSane will run fine on a Raspberry Pi or similar device.

How does this compare with https://github.com/alexpevzner/sane-airscan/ /
src:sane-airscan? Client vs Server?

Yes it is the server. I plan to package it in order to offer secure scanning over network instead of insecure firmware

I found this bug when I was about to file a WNPP bug myself. I just installed AirSane from source on my Ubuntu system and was delighted by how well it worked, and how easy it was.
