Dear Maintainer,
I am using rclone's sync command to maintain a local backup of my
Google Drive. It worked well until a few days ago but recently
syncing certain files has been failing with an error like this:
2021/07/15 08:47:06 ERROR : Attempt 3/3 failed with 1 errors and: failed to open source object: open file failed: googleapi: Error 403: Only files with binary content can be downloaded. Use Export with Docs Editors files., fileNotDownloadable
This upstream GitHub issue for rclone appears to address the issue:
https://github.com/rclone/rclone/issues/5455
The same annoying workaround listed in that issue works sometimes for
me but the problem soon returns after files have been modified.
I downloaded the latest rclone beta
(
https://beta.rclone.org/rclone-beta-latest-linux-amd64.zip) and it
fixes the issue.
Can you please consider updating to 1.56.0 when it is released (or
backporting the relevant fix)? I think this will be needed for stable
because the Google Drive support is quite broken without this fix.
Thanks...
peace & happiness,
martin
