Package: exiv2
Version: 0.27.3-3
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

the current version 0.27.3 has lack of CR3 support. CR3 is the new RAW format used by Canon EOS R cameras. Upgrading exiv2
to a new version with CR3 support also allows other projects (e.g. Darktable) the processing of CR3 files.
Support for CR3 was initial added by PR #1448 (https://github.com/Exiv2/exiv2/pull/1448).

Best regards,
Heiko Schabert

This bug does not appear to be fixed.

To enable CR3 support, the library should be built with an additional
build option:
-DEXIV2_ENABLE_BMFF=0

Echoing previous comment. This bug was to enable CR3 support, which
requires BMFF enablement, no just a version bump.

From https://exiv2.org/whatsnew.html

* Support for bmff files (HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, CR3, JXL/bmff)

This is arguably the most important new feature in the new version of
exiv2, so enabling it in the build is required to support any of these
file formats.
