Package: recoll
Version: 1.24.3-3
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

recollindex does not longer work for *.ps files.
It works, if /usr/bin/pstotext is linked to /usr/bin/ps2ascii.

pstotext seems to be broken. It was removed from Debian testing. One
should replace it in rclps and rcldvi by something else.

Hi,

This is fixed in current recoll code. The current handler is fully
compatible with recoll 1.24:

https://opensourceprojects.eu/p/recoll1/code/ci/2f75550348a06bfd354df241b3ea0f61a45c102c/tree/src/filters/rclps

The fixed handler uses ps2pdf and pdftotext. The output is much better
than ps2ascii, and ps2pdf extracts some metadata from the postscript
comments (e.g.: %%Title:)
