Package: kio-gdrive
Version: 22.12.3-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Using dolphin for network, you can select gdrive but it does not propose to add
a google account.

Using systemsettings, I have the same problem and using the command rpoposed in the
packahe readme.md gives:
kioclient5 exec gdrive:/
kf.service.services: KApplicationTrader: mimeType "x-scheme-handler/gdrive" not found
kf.kio.core: KIO::get didn't emit a mimetype! Please fix the KIO worker for URL QUrl("gdrive:/")

That's odd, mine shows a "New account" button.

Hmm, that sounds like the KIO worker wasn't registered properly. I'll
assume you ran "kdeinit5 # or just [logout and] re-login" as stated in
the README. Assuming this was the case indicates some kind of breakage
elsewhere.

Neat, I track this branch too :)

Are you able to reproduce this bug with a pure testing/bookworm or
sid/unstable system? If so, please provide steps to reproduce, and
remove the moreinfo tag from this bug at that time.

Assuming the README was followed, it appears that the trigger condition
is kio (or another package) from experimental. I wonder if the ABI was
silently broken by upstream again, and that's what's going on here? If
you'd like to test this hypothesis, try downloading the source package
for kio-gdrive, install the *-dev packages for the versions of the
libraries you're using on this installation, then dpkg-buildpackage,
debuild, or similar, as you prefer.

Alternatively, I wonder if this is a wishlist bug expressing how
annoying it is to have to "kdeinit5 # or just [logout and] re-login"? I
would totally relate, by the way, because I find that annoying too.

Nicholas

It is hard to know if it is broken for you or for many others. As I saw
exactly the same reports on other distrib I assume this is a general
problem.

I tested on another computer with exactly the same setup unstable +
experimental, nearly same package set (well execpt I use a generic
debian kernel on this one). And there it kinda works:

1)I cannot access an old account,
2) but I can create a new one
3) and relaucching kdeinit5 I can even access the content,

So this is probably incompatible left over in the .config or similar. I
will try to search for gdrive or kio there.

It is my own kernel that I use for years on my machin just updating it
to official long term stable...

Well the package are now in testing I guess due to the hard freeze.

Thnaks for replying. More later when I can put my hands back on the
problematic config.

It may be that Google disconnected a bunch of people again... This
happened to me sometime in the last three weeks, for no reason, and only
on my laptop. Reauthenticating solved it.

Yes, that could be!

Yes, and my experience is that they work fine without the addition of
experimental packages.

You're welcome! I appreciate your efforts, and if there is a bug that
affects bookworm/testing, then we need to figure out how to reproduce
it, so we can fix up asap :) Of course it would also be nice to fix
experimental and unstable, but bookworm has top priority.
