X-Mailer: bug 3.2.9
Subject: findutils: findutils depends on newer version of dpkg (or apt?)
Package: findutils
Version: 4.1-37
Severity: normal
The postinstall script attempts to run install-docs with a control
file which says the documentation is in info format. The version of
install-docs which I have here does not support info format. This
ought to be included as a dependency of the package.

$ dpkg -s dpkg
Package: dpkg
Essential: yes
Status: install ok installed
Priority: required
Section: base
Installed-Size: 1382
Maintainer: Wichert Akkerman <wakk...@debian.org>
Version: 1.6.7
Replaces: dpkg-doc-ja
Pre-Depends: libc6 (>= 2.1.2), libncurses5
Description: Package maintenance system for Debian
This package contains the programs which handle the installation and
removal of packages on your system.
.
The primary interface for the dpkg suite is the `dselect' program;
a more low-level and less user-friendly interface is available in
the form of the `dpkg' command.
.
In order to unpack and build Debian source packages you will need to
install the developers' package `dpkg-dev' as well as this one.

That sounds like a good idea to me. The bug is closed.
