I am running mandrake linux 8.0, kernel 2.4.3-20mdk.
I have a HP CDwriter 8230 USB which worked well under windows, but is a
door stop under Linux. I have USB support working, and my imation USB
superdisk works just dandy.
Since windows and me went our seperate ways permanently, I am faced with
the possibility of never getting to use this practically new burner again.
Any thoughts about how to bring it back to life?
On a related note, I burned about ten disks of mp3's onto CDRW under
windows using roxio's software that writes the information onto the disk
using UDF, universal disk format. Is there a way to read those disks from a
standard cdrom drive without recompiling my kernel? Perhaps a loadable
module?
thanks for any help ahead of time,
cheers,
Mathew
