CD not readable on Windows 3.1

Are you sure your problem is not related to your CD reader?
If you run Win 3.1, your PC must be old enough to have a CD
player that is of the first ones (i.e. 8x and less). The CDR
technology did not exist then as it is now, so readers were not
intended to read those personal CDs.
Another thing you should try is making sure you CD is
"closed". In "not closed" CDs, the table of contents is not written
like in "closed" CDs, and older readers often can't find it. I'm
sure you can't read CDRW neigther, since the surface and optical
technology are not the same.
I had the same problem with my old Gateway P100 running
Win95 until I changed the reader from a 4x to a 40x.
