I have tried everything I can find in writing to reformat a Performa631CD
hard drive. Several things suggest that I should have a file called Apple
HD SC Setup but I can't find it either on the computer it's self or on the
Setup CD. I might also mention that the computer freezes up when I try to
boot to the hard drive. Any suggestions? Thanks, John Morrison

This isn't the correct forum, but, dealing with the second issue first. Have
you attempted booting with extensions off (holding down the shift key while
powering on and keeping it down until you receive a message "Extensions
Off")?

If your computer is freezing on boot, you most likely have one of two
problems. One, you have an extension conflict. This can be determined with
the above suggestion. If your system boots with extensions off, you know you
need to locate which extension is the culprit. However, if it fails to boot,
you most likely have a file error or corrupt driver on your hard disk.
Norton Disk Doctor is your best bet. However, Apple provides a "First Aid"
utility in the same folder noted below which might also do the trick.

On your system CD (Setup CD) there will be a folder named "Utilities" or
"Apple Utilities." You will have the HD Setup utility in there.
