how to set privileges with netatalk

Hello newsgroup


Would somebody have a clue on how to set privileges to files and directories
created on a linuxbox's diskshare by a macintosh connected through NETATALK
??

You need to put an AppleVolumes file in each users home directory, with the
share details for that user in it. Also by default there is an
AppleVolumes.default file in the /etc/atalk directory which has as it's last
line ~. This gives each user their home directory by default unless you
remove this file or the ~ from it. You can add other default shares here,
and whether they are read and write. I think that the permissions are
whatever they would be if that user was logged onto the linux box directly,
as each user must login when the connect via appletalk.
