automated backup

I have atalk running on a box that I would like to be used as a central
arhive for several mac os machines.

I am having trouble finding an app to run on those machines that would
simply copy folders, on a schedule, to the appleshare. [which in this case
is an appleshare running on linux]

Can anyone help me? I have had trouble with "redux" [crashing] and several
others, and I have even tried "applescript" and it errors out partway
through large "synchronize folders" operations.
