Dell Inspiron 8300 RAID Level -1 120GB

Well, i bought this machine a couple of days back and was stunned to
hear from Dell that they wont support partitioning of the disks and/or
for multiple OSes..

This machine with 120GB RAID 1 Hardware support..
This machine has SATA HDDs which work with Promise ATA Chips..so HDDs
wont be detected by BIOS but only by the Drivers of the OS..Windows XP
has drivers for this.(Now am thinking instead of this Hardware support
i could have gone for two 120GBs and Linux software RAID support..)

I would like to know, whether anyone tried partitioning in this kind
of machine and were successful installing dual boot OS and
partitioning..

Also can i find the drivers for Redhat Linux..I will anyway search but
if someone already knew this that would be more helpful and
timesaving..
