I wasnt going to buy it if I didnt like it!
Well I was really shocked!!!
I cant do anything to the desktop.
I can change focus to windows, using the mouse, BUT I CANT SET A DELAY
TIME!!!!
I dont have as much freedom to change the interface and I think Redhat is
treating me as an idiot by not allowing me have the functionality I used to
have with previous versions.
Buy standardising the GUI they have restricted what I can do.
ITS MS WINDOWS IN DISGUISE!!!! DONT BUY IT!
Im going to use RH7.3 until they allow me to use KDE or GNOME the way I
want to use it / configure it / see it.
IM NOT AN IDIOT REDHAT. Give me back my functionality!!

While I dont like Bluecurve, you can still change KDE and GNOME desktop
back to their default settings.
It took me a grand total of 3 minutes (including waiting for a grep to
finish) to find that gconf takes care of doing this configuration for
you. Why don't you try running "gconf-editor" and then going to "apps /
metacity" to adjust the auto-raise. Worked great for me.
And as for the MS Windows comparison, that's just plain and utter
nonsense. You show me the day Windows gives you source code for free and
I'll be the first in line to eat my (red) hat. No one (including Red
Hat) says you *have* to use a particular version of their software, and
no one forces you to upgrade. If you like 7.3, by all means, use it and
have fun! If I was going to forget about 8.0, I'd want a better reason
than not knowing how to run it -- but that's just me, to each his own.

Thanx for yr input, like you i'll stick to 7.3.....
What have they done with the desktop???
I'm about to d/l it myself but the more they restrict what I can do with
it, the more likely I am to give another distro a try.
Should I upgrade if i'm happy with 7.3 ?

simply don't install bluecurve...
or use a different windowmanager (windowmaker, enlightenment, etc)
noone tells that you MUST use the default environment.
