Giving back

Congratulations to our largest-ever group of mentees: Daivik Dave, Hrishav Mukherjee, Ka Ming Hui, Pranjan Sana, Prashant Prajapati, and Vibhav Pant. You have shown that you care about our project and that you are eager for growth. And growth you should expect from this experience.

The reason we have been able to accept more mentees this year is that our previous mentees, now mentors, are giving back. Like you today, they have joined us, worked diligently on their projects, learned all they could absorb, made friends along the way, and then realized how hard is to grow alone without good advice.

I hope you too go beyond successfully finishing your project. I hope that you will help us with even more mentees in the coming years. There are two ways in which our group grows: (1) growing the number of members, and (2) growing each individual member. As you develop yourself, do not let the idea that our group is limited to a few dwell in your mind. Think that the same receipt that got you here can be repeated over and over again to make everyone better off.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to work for xia . I would like to be a part of xia even after completion of gsoc and contribute to other projects and help mentees next year.

Hello Michael,

First of all, thank you very much for offering the opportunities to work with talented open source community! 

If possible, I would also like to contribute to this meaningful project by:

• Make video guide to the gatekeeper project before the end of this summer programme
• Record the detailed setup process of gatekeeper
• Hopefully become potential mentor
• Commit to this project continuously

I hope the above measures can lower the initial learning curve for beginners and attract more people to make contributions.

I am looking forward to this exciting programme :)
