Mulit-touch Touchpad Functionality on Linux?

Hi all,

I would like to ask if there is any open source package trying to implement / imitate the multi-touch functionality of Apple iPhone / MacBook on Linux, but usable on general PC laptop Touchpad (most Touchpads are made by Synaptics).


As I understand, Asus EeePC 900 Windows XP version has also built-in multi-touch functionality.


My little search online has found that there is only minimal information in this aspect:


[this one is on mouse gesture, not exactly multi-touch gesture but at least some idea].


PS: After seeing a live demonstration of MacBook at Fortress shop [豐澤電器] on Tuesday, I am very impressed by the multi-touch functionality developed by Apple. In fact, Apple even provided multi-touch driver for installing in Windows XP on MacBooks via Bootcamp:
