Ubuntu12.04 LTS : language-pack-te is broken !

Dear friends,

We tried to move one of our machines, ( which was running a  nice Ubutnu 11.04 ) to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.  The fresh installation would not allow Telugu to be installed, citing the reason "Software Database broken". 

It appears that the package  " language-pack-te-base " ( on which language-pack-te is based )  is missing in the repositories at the moment, leading to this error.

Learned friends may please help solve the issue.

looks like the issue is because of ppa certificate not present.
check on how to install ppa certificate

we have downloaded Ubuntu12.04 iso image directly from ubuntu.com  ( Five days ago, and then yesterday, independantly from CKPalli and Bangalore) and installed (and reinstalled) in two different machines.  Issue remains.

Probably the bug was not present in the linuxforU DVD..I will try to get my hands on it; thanks for the info.

Do u use RTS layout (phonetic english ) to key-in Telugu?  Did it come by default with iBus in the linuxForYou DVD image Version you mentioned? 
We have been using RTS Layout for telugu input all these years without any problem; now suddenly all links to it seems to have vanished, so feeling really left-out.

మీకు ఇన్‌స్క్రిప్ట్ కనబడితే  RTS   కూడా కనబడాలి. నా వ్యవస్థలో బాగా పనిచేస్తుంది.   అంతగా అ‌వసరమైతే   ibus-m17n package స్థాపించుకోండి,   యూనిటీ కాక గ్నోమ్ క్లాసికి  వాడుకరి అంతర్వర్తితో వాడండి.

నేను RTS  వాడను.RTS కు సంబంధించి ఒక దోషం నివేదించినట్లున్నారు. కాని క్లాసిక్ తో ఇబ్బందిలేదంటున్నారు.
 తాజాకరించినప్పుడు అనుకోకుండా పాకేజీలను తొలగించితే లేక ఆధారాలు సరిగాలేని పాకేజీలు మానవీయంగా  స్థాపించితే  సినాప్టిక్ పాకేజీ దోషాలు సాధారణంగా చూపెడుతుంది. కొత్తగా స్థాపించినపుడు అలాంటి సమస్య రాదు.
ఈ స్పందన మీకు వుపయోగపడుతుందని, మీ సమస్య త్వరలో తీరాలని ఆశిస్తాను. ఉబుంటు తెలుగు వాడేవారినుండి మెయిళ్లు రావటం నాకు సంతోషం.
వీలైతే, మీరుండే చోట ఉబుంటు గురించి తెలుగు వికీపీడియా గురించి ఒక అవగాహన సదస్సు ఏర్పాటుచేస్తే బాగుంటుంది. నేను మరి కొంత మంది వీలుచేసుకొని వస్తాము.
