Thank you for using Swift Linux. I will be making substantial changes to the next version of Swift Linux:
1. Will be derived from Linux Mint Debian Edition with Xfce instead of GNOME: Trying to properly remove GNOME proved to be a hairy experience, as there are so many dependencies. Removing MATE/Cinnamon is even hairier. On the other hand, Xfce is simpler, has fewer dependencies, and isn't changing as quickly. In theory, this change should mean nothing. In practice, not making this change would make an already very difficult task impossible.
2. OpenBox/LXDE instead of IceWM: LXDE has MUCH better support than IceWM but can still be quite lightweight. LXDE is used by SliTaz, which has an ISO file size of just 35 MB, which is several times smaller than that of Puppy Linux. While the spirit of antiX Linux will remain, the window manager will not. I expect LXDE to provide most of the benefits of Xfce, MATE, Cinnamon, and KDE (like better support and more configuration tools available) in much lighter packages.
I don't have a timetable for the next version of Swift Linux. (I'm also working on several other projects.)
