I have a extra hard drive installed in my computer for storing files, mp3's etc and although swift file manager pcmanfm see's the extra hd when I click it to open the contents I get an error message stating "authentication required"  What do I need to do to be able to access this in my user account?       I can access the hd by logging out and logging into root but I prefer to use my user account.....

I assume this is just a pcmanfm issue right?

Try adding the mountpy package from the repository.  This worked for me.
