Change Login / session manager

So I'm liking swift, but would like a slightly more full featured window manager running on top (this computer should support it).  I've downloaded the xfce4 metapackage from synaptic.   The experience I have with other distros is that a session type is selectable during the login -- unfortunately the login manager for swift is so bare bones, this feature doesn't seem to be included (unless I missed something).  How would I make xfce the default session for a user and/or change out the login manager to a different one that supports session management.

I have a lot of work to do in refining the new Mint-based Swift Linux.

However, I have no plans to offer an Xfce-based version.  Although Xfce is lighter than GNOME and KDE, it's still substantially heavier than IceWM+ROX pinboard.  One of the biggest challenges with Swift Linux is keeping the ISO file small enough for a CD for years to come.

An Xfce-based Swift Linux that doesn't fit on a CD would be pointless given that the parent distro (Linux Mint Debian Edition) already offers an Xfce edition that doesn't fit on a CD.

Agree that you don't need to offer it as part of the initial install, but just add detection and the ability to change session type from the login screen.  From the little reading I've done the command line process for changing sessions isn't very straight forward.

I removed the ability to select the session type from the login screen, because IceWM + ROX pinboard is all that I support, and I don't want to give the appearance I support other sessions simply because I don't.

It would be nice to offer other DE/WM setups, but I don't have the capacity to do so.  Making one setup work very well has to take precedence over providing multiple setups.  I don't have the big team of Linux Mint, Puppy Linux, Debian, or other popular distros.

So I'm providing IceWM + ROX pinboard because it works very well in antiX Linux.  Xfce and LXDE would be heavier.  Fluxbox isn't as user-friendly as IceWM.  JWM works very well in Puppy Linux, but antiX Linux is easier to emulate because it's also Debian-based.  (Puppy Linux is an independent distro.)

Of course, if you want to provide other setups, you are welcome to join the Swift Linux team.

Thanks for the invite -- if I ever think my linux-fu is good enough I'll be sure to contribute, unfortunately I don't even know where to begin thinking I could help!  

Pardon my ignorance, but is additional support necessary from your side?   If you're running on the mint backend,  and it has the option to download the packages through apt, what is missing?   I'm not trying to be a pest -- genuinely curious.   Thanks for your time and Swift.
