volumeicon and autostart

Hi

I really start to like this disto.
and I want to add volumeicon to auto start when the system logon.

so I add the command "volumeicon &" to the end of the file " /home/your_user_name/.icewm/startup"

The volumeicon start as the system log in, but also an empty window opened in the upper left side of the desktop.

is there any command I could add so only the icon will appear with oout the empty window?

or may be there is a better solution to control the volume from the panel?
