24-bit Audio Isn't Working

We've been looking into supporting high resolution audio file playback, specifically 24-bit/96kHz and 24-bit/192kHz files. We've made some changes and had a little progress but are still not able to get proper playback of 24-bit audio files. I'm hoping that by posting here someone else has looked at this or has some ideas of what is needed to get this working. We've confirmed with Allwinner that it should work but that it was never tested.

We're getting closer. I was able to meet briefly with Allwinner at CES and they are helping us now. We are very close now I think and with some luck we may solve this over the weekend.

Yes we did and we're submitting our kernel patches. Right now we're only submitting changes for HDMI since that is all we have tested. The code changes can be easily applied to I2S and S/PDIF and when I get a chance I'll yest that hardware and submit more patches.

Would it be possible to get DTS passthrough from the S/PDIF port?

There are register settings in the A10/A20 marked for DTS but I haven't experimented with them or even S/PDIF yet. I don't remember seeing sections of code in the HDMI audio driver looking for DTS and only looked at the S/PDIF code briefly.

So if the register bits that I saw are what I expect then  DTS pass through is possible but the S/PDIF driver would need to be looked at.
