I don't think anybody here has tested this yet either. So any findings are very welcome!

Yes we did and we're submitting our kernel patches. Right now we're only submitting changes for HDMI since that is all we have tested. The code changes can be easily applied to I2S and S/PDIF and when I get a chance I'll yest that hardware and submit more patches.
