It was chosen as it's a distro with many commonalities across the
board, and one that doesn't change often, a stable base.
If you don't have a copy, not a problem. You can still follow all the
steps on any Linux Flavor.
A system path here or there may differ. I run CentOS in a Virtual
Machine window, but I run all the commands on my main PC too.
More important than what we run, is that we do so non-destructively.
That means, make system changes or reformatting is not something you
want to do unless it is a Test PC, or inside a Virtual Machine.
