Hi, guys

I am new here. I found that RK3368 upstreaming is in process[1]. And I found lots of rk3368 powered STB is very cheap(Reference the following picture, it seems that the serial point is at the bottom-right of sd socket).

And I do not found any information about running linux on rk3368.
Is there any one plan to try linux on it?

thanks

bamvor

Hi Bamvor,

it is of course possible - just attach the serial, bootstrap your favorite Linux distribution on a host-pc and get going :-) . One caveat, the debug uart shares pins with the controller driving the sd-slot, so only one is possible at a time.
Of course there is no howto for this, so you'll need to grep google a bit it seems.

Hi Bamvor,

Have you been successful installing linux on RK3368 box? If so, how does it work?

I have one RK3368 box too (almost the same board which is shown on the picture), running android 5.1 now.

I would like to install any linux-kernel based OS (but not android) on it (maybe some debian based distro), and any help would be appreciated. So, if you managed to do it, can you explain how please?

I'm kind of familiar with SBC-s, and have some RPi & Odroid experience, but this one seems a bit different.

Thank you,
Mark
