Turning Off Digital Output (S/PDIF) is not disabling the red light from the head phone Port

Hello,

Turning Off Digital Output (S/PDIF) is not disabling the red light from the head phone Port. I did some google research and this was the solution provided. But this doesn't seems to work for me. Whatever I do the red light never go off. How can I turn this off?

Those changes worked for me. I just needed to:

    echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save

Hi Tim,

I've tried this. This will turn off the red light. But will turn back right on when I play some audio and remain ON for 10 seconds.

Tested on: Macbook Pro Retina 13 inch and Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch. Same behavior was seen on both devices.

@Naftuli, is it turning off when you are playing any sound?

Anyway I think this solution is good enough, so solve the issue to an extend.
