Role- Platform Engineer - Linux/Unix Expert
Location - Cincinnati -OH -100% Onsite from Day 1
Contract – 12+Months
Client: Fifth Third Bank
C2C
Visa: USC, GC, GC-EAD and H4EAD Only

Responsibilities:
•    Standing up applications in environment (application up running, logins, interfacing with other applications)
•    Working with 3rd party application vendors & internal Enterprise teams
•    Subject matter expert with Linux / AIX (experience with Windows nice to have)
•    Network working support/knowledge
•    Application support – keeping applications up and running – problem-solving
•    On-call required - some off hours required (weekend – for new deployment, after hours for production support)
•    Working knowledge of real-time messaging and batch file transfer implementation and troubleshooting using different packages and methodologies (MQ, FTP, SCP, Sterling, etc)
•    
•    General knowledge of basic networking concepts – need the ability to communicate/understand networking environments to work with vendors and other teams
•    Be the main liaison with software vendor(s) for systems utilized by a particular line of business
•    Stay abreast of upcoming changes and enhancements in vendor’s software and how those changes will impact the business.
•    Work with the line of business to design solutions to incorporate software changes and effectively work with business partners to ensure effective implementation
•    Understand the business technology roadmap and make recommendations on continued utilization or elimination of current third party software solutions.
•    (Remove? If working on an agile team work closely with product owner to ensure that user stories have enough specificity and clarity for the software developers to effectively meet customer needs.)
•    Implement and maintain new features and capabilities while continuously improving the quality of our technical products and services
•    Follow industry and organizational best practices and standards, and participate in company communities of practice to continuously refine and communicate them. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
•    Achieve operational excellence by automating processes and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions
•    Keep up with technology trends and innovations in your field(s) of practice
•    Provide operational support and troubleshooting for your team’s products and services
o    Support will at times require non-normal work hour callouts or planned service/deployment windows in evenings or weekends as business requires
•    Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members
•    Other duties as required
 MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Six+ years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Willingness to work in a highly-collaborative environment. Solid understanding and significant experience with modern software development practices, tools, and/or hardware technologies. Solid understanding of IT security best practices. Expertise in one or more technical and/or functional domains relevant to the position. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions. Results driven, attention to detail, ability to work independently Demonstrated experience in key IT Service Management areas (Incident, Problem, Knowledge and Change Management) Proficient w/ AIX/Linux platform
•    While focus would be on AIX/Linux based solutions, ability to support and deploy Windows Server based solutions a plus.
Familiarity with networking concepts and requesting network services: Routing, Firewalls, NATs, etc. Working knowledge of real-time messaging and batch file transfer implementation and troubleshooting using different packages and methodologies (MQ, FTP, SCP, Sterling, etc) Experience with application integrations to databases in Oracle, MS-SQL and DB2; include ability to assist with management of databases with database management team participation. Cloud computing knowledge and experience a plus.
