Yesterday I figured all this out:

----------------
target-ctl addhbatotarget hba_id=0 hba_type=4 iblock_host_id=0

target-ctl createvirtdev hba_id=0 iblock_major=253 iblock_minor=2

target-ctl addtpg tpgt=1

target-ctl addnptotpg tpgt=1 dev=eth0 ip=192.168.0.245 port=3260

target-ctl addluntodev tpgt=1 hba_id=0 iscsi_lun=0 iblock_major=253

target-ctl addnodetotpg tpgt=1 queue_depth=32
initiatorname=iqn-1998-01.com.vmware:portland-41951977

target-ctl addnodetolun tpgt=1 iscsi_lun=0
initiatorname="iqn-1998-01.com.vmware:portland-41951977" lun_access=1

target-ctl settpgattrib tpgt=1 generate_node_acls=1

# XXX - without authetication access is limited read-only
target-ctl settpgattrib tpgt=1 authentication=0

target-ctl enabletpg tpgt=1
--------------

But the iSCSI target comes up read-only on the ESX 3i.

How do I do SRA and/or CHAP? ESX has a dialog box for CHAP
parameters.

Thank you,

~B
