Greetings all,

I just updated the Debian 4 (i386 and x86_64 and Ubuntu 7.10 (i386
JeOS) target-modules, target-source and target-utils packages to
2.9.0.250. The r250 changeset has a bugfix for memory corruption in
the iSCSI in-band discovery patch that was discovered using the
default Ubuntu kernel configuration.

Please upgrade your Debian-vmw6 and JeOS-vmw6, JeOS-kvm and JeOS-qemu
packages from:

http://linux-iscsi.org/debian/
http://linux-iscsi.org/ubuntu/

Thanks!

Hello Nicholas,

Just for your information, are you aware that the SLUB allocator will
probably become the default in all Linux distributions ? See also

Thanks for the pointer, during the debugging process recently, I have
been looking at mm/slub.c and trying to get my head around the
advantages over the traditional SLAB allocator. I will definately check
this out and expand my knowledge on the subject. I am interested in
seeing how much of a different this really makes with typical target
workloads.

Also, I am really glad that we where able to track down the issue with
LIO-Target before the masses made the switch.
