Hello All,

I had earlier circulated the 1st version of the course guide. I have
posted it again as a file in our discussion group.

Please do let me have your comments.

I am putting the first version in the wiki page.

With regards,
Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,

You have done some serious works with the Linux for IT Managers course.
Good work! I am still going through the document but I would like to
bring the following to your attention. Since we are going to introduce,
in the course, an element of windows and Proprietary systems, in this
case I would suggest to change the title of the course. Just as a
suggestion - Software and Operating Systems for IT Managers. I would
also like to see the Moodle LMS introduced for both OSs. More to do with
installation and configuration.

More feedback will come soon.

John

Dear John,

Thanks for the feedback. It is very useful and the positive comment.
It is highly appreciated.

I will be changing the name of the course in the next version- v4. I
have made changed to the version I had earlier circulated including
more additional resources for Windows. I have also included a module
20 which is a case study on how to install moodle on Linux and on
Windows environment. This case study will serve to sum-up what the
reader has been able to learn through out the course. I hope this is
OK with you.

I have also finalised on the wiki version of the course guide which is
available on http://www.colwiki.org/Linux_for_IT_Managers_Training_Manual
. Do let me have your comments on this one too. I have also compiled
an Open Office version of the manual which is available in the list of
files in this group.

In conclusion:

The newest version of documents are in this group shared files
repository and are labelled v3. They are in various formats including
OO3, DOCX and PDF (See http://groups.google.co.ke/group/linux-for-it-managers/files
) . I tried to upload to the download section of the Wiki but the
formats are restricted. I will need to activate the formats before I
upload (of course if I get permission from COL).

Looking forward to more comments.

With regards,
Nicholas
