If you don't have a specific project in mind I would suggest translation of xfce. It is a light weight desktop environment that can be used by older computers that are still running win xp and ridden with virus in Ethiopia. It is also one of the easiest projects to start with. I have translated a good deal but have fallen back due to time constraints and you may continue from there. Here is a link to instructions. wiki.xfce.org/translations

Thank you for letting me in to XFCE. Do you know of the best Amharic-English dictionary? If I remember correctly you composed a list of translation tools while we were at Google-Amharic. Can we have some sort of collection here? The excel file from AAU was very helpful for me while doing little work at OLPC. Is that project still in need of localizers (Amharic)? http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Amharic_Keyboard
